Indian Woman

This lovely woman was something different for me.  As a digital painter, I work hard on getting the face as smooth as I possibly can.  With this piece, I wanted to maintain the details as much as I could, yet get a smoothness as well.

Smiling Little Girl

I found this little girl on Dreamstime.  It was fun painting all the flowers in this one and I love the background here, too!

Here is a before and after, just to show you what I’ve done.

Female Cardinal in Winter

This beautiful Cardinal was in my pine tree, trying to keep warm during this winter storm here in Minnesota.  The photo was taken right outside my bedroom window.  Amazing what these birds must put up with in the frigid months of Winter.

African Barbet and Butterfly

Love the background in this one; using Corel Painter, I used special brushes to achieve this look.  Butterfly and flowers on branch are stock images found on stock sites.

Black Collared Barbet

This is another photo given to me by my friend in Africa – with permission, I painted it. This Barbet is actually called the Black Collared Barbet.  The grass, Tree, Sun, and butterflies all either hand painted or came from stock photo resources.
This was another fun one to do!

The Barbet

This photo was used with permission from a friend of mine in Africa.  He took this photo in his own yard.  I just had to paint him!  Leaves came from a stock source, as well as the bee’s I’ve added.  Painting this one was a LOT of FUN!

Category: About Me

I’ve always loved taking pictures.  But by 2004, when I purchased my first digital camera, I started taking photography a little more seriously.  I joined the Renderosity group and dove right in.  This began the start of my inspiration; my drive to become better and better and also, it opened me up to other forms of art.  What a wonderful group of artists at Renderosity!  My interests began with photography, then moved on to Macro photography and soon after fell in love with digitally painting ones images, giving them a beautiful painterly look.  Consider joining if you have a love of photography and art.

The tools I use primarily are Photoshop CS6 as well as Corel Painter XI .. working with layers and having access to the numerous filters and brushes these provide is exciting for me, as it allows me to be as creative as I can and pushes me to step out of my comfort zone to strive and try out different art forms.

My blog here is a place to display much of my work.  It will be a work in progress … so bare with me as I develop this part of my website.
